Exhibition Flop#3, Le 6b, invited by Hélène Kelhetter, Marie Servas and Victoria David.
The installation 202020 is a reminder of the effect of confinement on youth. The year is 2020, a year marked by the covid pandemic. A young woman of 20, confined to 20 square meters at 20 o'clock in the evening, can't get out. The confined space becomes the theater of her emotions and frustrations. A pedestal represents a bed, around which her world is organized. Fragile, precious glazed ceramic objects represent the young woman's personal, everyday belongings. The whole is frozen in a kind of chaos, like the messiness of a post-adolescent girl's bedroom left to her own devices. The visual chaos becomes the expression of a moment of transition when, thwarted in her desire for freedom, a future adult looks for ways out. While addressing themes linked to femininity and its emancipation, the work confronts the limits of a personal space with those of collective reality. |
